2 Hours Ethics CE
Instructor: Theodore A. Hoch, Ed.D., B.C.B.A.-D., L.B.A., President, Virginia Association for Behavior Analysis, and Associate Professor, George Mason University
In this webinar, Dr. Hoch will walk the participants through three decision sequences for determining the best course of action based on the Core Ethical Principles of behavior analysis (Bailey & Burch, 2016), the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts (BACB, 2015), and Commonwealth of Virginia Regulations Governing the Practice of Behavior Analysis (Board of Medicine, 2014). Three decision sequences will be shared: 1) Considering Events You Have Personally Experienced; 2) Considering Actions You Are Contemplating; and 3) Considering Events You’ve Heard About. These decision sequences help users consider relevant ethical and legal guidance; consequential and deontological ethics and potential courses of action; and alternative courses of action. The sequences end with guidance on formulating and justifying a specific course of action based on this thought process.
