2. Will identify probing questions to uncover possible objections (Part 1)
3. Will identify examples of escape and avoidance behaviors of parents, caregivers, and other service providers (Parts 1 and 2)
4. Identify treatment goal priorities based on environmental needs, resources, and constraints. (Part 2)
5. Identify examples of behavior intervention plans that fit the context of the environment and skill level of implementers. (Part 3)
Description:
Behavior analysts are often tasked with designing and developing behavior intervention plans to be implemented by non-behavior analytic professionals teachers, paraprofessionals, direct support providers, program supervisors, etc….). While a behavior analyst may be able to fluently perform a skill, reinforcer, and functional behavior assessment with an individual, analyzing the skills, preferences, and contingencies governing implementers can be more challenging and present barriers to the effective implementation of the behavior intervention plan. During this event, we’ll identify common objections to behavior analytic interventions, how to uncover unstated objections, practice analyzing the escape and avoidance behaviors of implementers, and identify strategies to increase the contextual fit of behavior intervention plans.
